Gardening on a small scale is very difficult when there is such a vast choice of suitable plants. Every year, Terry and I are torn between old favourites that are doing well, like the Phormium Tenax and the wonderful choice of bedding plants we see in the garden centres.
This is the first year our Phormium has flowered and we are very pleased with it. I have enclosed a photo of it, amongst others, which gives an idea of its size.
Our tomatoes are a couple of weeks behind this year, due to some unseasonal cold evenings at the start of the season. We are growing a yellow cherry tomato as well as the usual red ones. Despite my pinching back shoots and wrestling with yards of twine, our tomatoes are a jungle of foliage and tiny fruits. I cannot wait to try them.
